A date will be picked soon. Regarding the Werner Lieber Photos, three new posters have been created and will be on exhibit starting in April for the Earth Day festivities at the Desert Discovery Center in Barstow and continuing on for the next few months. MINUTES - May 27, 2000

The meeting of the Southern California Chapter Friends of Mineralogy was called to order by President Bob Reynolds at the Shoshone Museum in the Town of Shoshone. We had a rather large turnout and were able to discuss a wide variety of upcoming issues including publishing a brochure listing all of the mineral museums in Southern California. Also discussed was the fact of insurance for our field trips. Bob Housley will investigate the possibility of acquiring insurance through an affiliation with the Southern California Micromineralogists organization. The October Mineral Collectors Workshop will be held at the Desert Discovery Center in Barstow, with a big attraction being the variety of speakers and field trips we are planning. It has become apparent that we need to move our web site and would like to affiliate with a museum. Bob Reynolds will pursue discussions various museums in this regard. A few people brought mineral donations to the Shoshone Museum to help their collection grow - this is a small, up-and-coming museum and they were delighted to receive the beautiful donations. The meeting was adjourned in order to start the field trip to the War Eagle Mine.
